Closed-cell spray foam at the roof deck and exterior walls

Closed-cell foam is an air barrier and a vapor retarder in a single application, bonds to the deck and framing, and tolerates incidental moisture better than fibrous insulation. On a Naples roof it turns the attic into conditioned space, so ductwork and air handlers no longer sit in a hot, humid void. We apply it in lifts to the thickness the energy calculation and the architect specify.

Mineral wool for acoustic separation and fire resistance

Mineral wool (stone wool, such as ROCKWOOL and equivalents) is dense, non-combustible, water-repellent and dimensionally stable. We use it inside interior partitions and floor-ceiling assemblies around theaters, primary suites, offices, laundry and mechanical rooms, and as the cavity layer in generator and pool-equipment enclosures.
